You Can Now Uber Directly To A Person As Your Destination, Wait…What!

Uber

Uber has just rolled out two new features, one of which allows you to unlock custom Snapchat filters so you can Snap while you ride and other is a little bit controversial, as you can now Uber directly to a person in your contacts as your destination instead of an establishment. No, really!

According to Uber, this new feature allows you to skip the process of asking for the address and get straight to whom you’re meeting up with. Because for some people, asking the same question like Where are you? or Where’s that again? is pretty annoying… do you agree?

Uber is here to fix your mundane problem and all you have to do is sync your contacts with the Uber app, type in a friend’s name in the “Where to?” box and your friend will receive a request from Uber to provide their current static location. Once they accept, their location is used as your destination and you can be on your way!

And to help your friends and family know when they can expect you to arrive, Uber will share your ETA with them after you’re on your way to their location. They’ll get updates just like if you decided to share your ETA on any trip.

If you’re catching up with friends when out of town, meeting your sister at the mall, or joining coworkers for drinks, now you can skip the back and forth and just Uber directly to them. However, as convenient as it sounds, it also means you have to remain where you are because your location will remain static once the request is accepted. Let’s hope this new feature doesn’t make stalking someone a lot easier!
