The Volvo V40 was launched in Malaysia back in 2014, which at that time, was offered with a lone T4 variant that outputs 180 hp and 240 Nm. Today, Volvo Car Malaysia has announced that the V40 is now available with the company’s Drive-E engine!

Designated as the V40 T5, the Volvo now outputs 245 hp and 350 Nm that is transferred to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. This translates to a 0-100 km/h performance of only 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h.

Our main goal during the development of the Drive-E powertrains was to deliver efficient driving pleasure – powerful engines that consumes less fuel and emits lower emissions,” said Lennart Stegland, Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia.
