According to Wilson, a pair of the new MPV was caught in a traffic jam on Federal Highway heading towards Kuala Lumpur. He also had the opportunity to ask the Proton engineer about the MPV, in which the engineer mentioned that the name has yet to be confirmed.

The new Suzuki Ertiga MPV will be powered by a 1.4-litre K14B four-cylinder engine that outputs 92 PS at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Buyers in Indonesia can pick between a four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual, though we expect only the automatic to be available here. Like the Perodua Alza, the Suzuki Ertiga’s safety is backed by two SRS airbags up front, ABS, EBD and BA. Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control is not available on the Ertiga.

If Proton’s development work is on track, we can expect the new MPV to debut some time in October, with prices rivalling the Perodua Alza.
