Spied! Next-generation Mazda CX-5 caught with updated exterior!

The Mazda CX-5 is one of the earliest Mazda models to adopt the company’s Kodo design language back in 2012.

Thanks to automotive tipster Ferd, we now can confirm that Mazda is working on a new generation CX-5.

From the looks of the updated Mazda CX-5, we can see that the company’s crossover now sports a sharper front end, with slimmer looking headlights up front. The grille appears to be less pronounced than its predecessor, likely taking inspirations from the CX-9. Wheel design appears to be adapted from the smaller CX-3 crossover, with dual-tone alloys all round.

Apart from that, it appears that the general size of the upcoming Mazda CX-5 remains similar to the outgoing model, with the rear window nicely integrated at the rear C-pillar. Speaking of the rear end, the spied model here also sports production-ready tail lights, though actual design is hard to see.
