SPIED: Mazda BT-50 facelift spotted in Thailand

Mazda BT-50

The Mazda BT-50 facelift leaked photo has surfaced online recently, appearing across enthusiast forums in Thailand, where the pick-up is built.

This frontal image shows that the refreshed BT-50 will take its inspiration from the new ‘Kodo’ design language worn by Mazda’s new passenger car range like the Mazda6.

Standout changes include a new grille design framed by a now familiar chrome blade garnish, with the large Mazda logo centred prominantly against a dark grey panel.

The current model’s large headlights continue, but now with a smoked tint that does away with the chrome and background and bold orange indicator lenses.

While details are limited at the moment, you can expect to find a refreshed design in the cabin, along with Mazda’s new MZD infotainment system.

In terms of powertrain, the facelift pickup will be based on the Ford Ranger so it could be offered with a variety of engines including an improved 3.2-liter Duratorq TDCi 5-cylinder diesel that develops 200 PS and 470 Nm of torque.
