Consumer Reports have surveyed over 230,000 new car owners in regards to satisfaction with their purchases, and have compiled a list of the seven cars that owners regret buying.

These are the seven cars from each category:

  • Hyundai Veloster: Owners complained about the sporty hatchback’s lack of power and feels cheap inside.
  • Jeep Compass: One owner said that it was the worst car he had ever driven.
  • Mercedes-Benz CLA: Surprisingly, some owners said that the CLA felt cheap.
  • Nissan Altima (also known as Teana): Owners said that the handling was ‘horrible’ and ‘irritating’.
  • Nissan Quest: Many owners lamented about bad visibility and the CVT.
  • Nissan Frontier: Owners whined about bad fuel economy and poor turning radius
  • Kia Rio: Only 40% of the owners said they will buy this again. Many owners blasted the car’s poor fuel economy and poor ride.

uhhh… how come so many Nissans in the top 7?

  • Some of those quotes from the survey sound like people who simply bought the wrong type of vehicle (the guy who scales down to a mini rice burner and then complains he misses his truck….well who wouldn’t?)

I’m also regret buying Nissan Serena S-hybrid. The noise when travel on highway is much louder than any cars that I owned before

I owned Nissan Grand Livina 1.6 Year 2014. Overall is good but still few things problem:
    1. Aircond smelly started after 3 months and fixed by TCSC. They do cleaning and pour something in the cooling coil. Smell better. So far so good.
    2. Door panel (4 doors) always grow fungus even after clean. Informed to TCSC and was told that they already know about the defect issue and waited 1 month for warranty replacement. – Just wonder why they didn’t call owner for replacement even they already know the defect problem. Quite disappointed about this.
    3. Disc brake came out noisy sound when brake and got vibration when brake at high speed (Year 2 1/2). They fixed it but still have little noise came out but no vibration already. They do brake Disc Skimming. (Personally think is quality issue cause it happen to my ex-car. Change the disc and it became ok)
    4. Battery last for 2 years only compare with my ex-car (Proton Iswara) can reach 4.5 years…TCSC told me that because NGL running a lot computerize so it make the battery can’t last longer. Not sure how true is it.
Others then that, i think NGL should have consider about the aircond for 3rd row passenger. Hope Nissan can improve.
