SDAP Opens New Porsche 3S Centre in Penang, Previews New 718 Cayman & Cayman S

Sime Darby Auto Performance, the sole-importers and distributors of the Porsche brand in Malaysia just opened a brand new 35,575sq.ft. Porsche Centre in Seberang Perai, Penang.

With an investment of over RM15 million, the new Porsche Centre sits on 102,524sq.ft. of land and is strategically located along the main thoroughfare on Jalan Baru. Present at the official opening ceremony was Arnt Bayer (above, middle) CEO of SDAP, who promised a “higher level of customer satisfaction and unique ownership experience for all Porsche owners and enthusiasts in the northern region”.

Indeed the premises itself is very impressive, following global CI, it looks very much like any Porsche Centre one would find in Germany. SDAP also took the opportunity to preview the new 718 Cayman & Cayman S (above) to the 40-odd media present at the launch.

Boasting 4.7sec and 4.2sec 0-100kmh times respectively, the cars retail for a starting price of RM530k and RM700k. The Cayman is powered by a turbocharged 2-litre flat-4 engine producing 300bhp, while the Cayman S gets a 2.5-litre turbocharged VGT flat-4 engine and churns out 350bhp. Both are capable of teaching top speeds of 275kmh and 285kmh respectively.
