Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Lego Speed Champions [+video]

There are many things in the world you wished that LEGO would make a toy after, whether it could be the iconic KLCC Twin Towers or the Penang Bridge. Now, a group of folks decided to submit an idea for LEGO via their Ideas channel, the idea? To create a set of the legendary Peugeot 205 Turbo 16.

The Peugeot 205 Turbo helped Peugeot clinch the constructor’s title for the world rally championships under the category of group B in 1985 and 1986 even amidst talks of suspending group B after numerous fatal accidents. WRC Group B came to an end rather abruptly, when the FIA took the decision, after the brutal accident of a Lancia Delta S4 at the ’86 Tour de Corse where, tragically, Henri Toivonen and his co-driver Serfio Cresto perished in a fireball of flames.

Here is what the creator of this project/idea has to say about the product.

The vehicle comes with a lot of interesting details:

  • An accurate shape and proportions (not easy to at this scale)
  • Multiple stickers reproducing faithfully the Peugeot Talbot Sport racing colours, main sponsors, headlights, rear lights and Tailgate…
  • A polished and detailed interior including a beautiful reinforcement frame behind the driver’s seat

The terrain is very realistic too, with a lot of nice details (a beautiful stream running underneath) and a cheerful crowd of fans enjoying the motor show

If you think that this project should be made into a reality, you can vote for it here.
