The biggest change is the new 1.2-litre PureTech turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that does 112 PS and 205 Nm, matched to a six-speed automatic that sends drive to the front wheels. The adoption of the new PuteTech engine means that the Peugeot 2008 is more fuel efficient than before, sipping just 4.4 L/100 km, as opposed to its predecessor’s 6.5 L/100 km.
Up front, the new update brings a revised front end to the Peugeot 2008, which includes the vertical slats on the front grille flanked by two projector headlights, black cladding on the wheel arches, new 17-inch Hydre Antra dual-tone alloy wheels and Peugeot’s tiger claw imprint on the tail light cluster.
Not wanting to fix what’s not broken, Peugeot continues to offer their i-Cockpit interior concept on the 2008 with a compact sport leather steering and large 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system taking centre stage. A heads up display is also fitted to the 2008, on top of the Arkamys 3D Audio system with 6 speakers, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, digital dual-zone climate control and a panoramic roof with blue LED mood lighting is also available. Elsewhere, Nasim said that both the Peugeot 208 and 2008 could feature Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in the near future.
Euro NCAP has rated the Peugeot 2008 with a five star rating, thanks to six airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD, Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Anti-Skid Regulation (ASR) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). The Peugeot 2008 also boasts a very high strength steel body construction, Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, seal belts with pretensioners and Peugeot Rolling Code Transponder immobilizer system.
Available in four body colours, Digital White, Ultimate Red, Emerald and Artense Grey, the Peugeot 2008 is now backed by Nasim’s 5 year Peace of Mind Warranty, which covers the 2008 up to 5 years or 120,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. Additionally, the Peugeot 2008 is also backed by Nasim’s 3-year complimentary 24-hour Peugeot Roadside Assist, exclusive access to the Peugeot Lounge at Subang Airport and Peugeot Privilege membership.
With a price tag of RM109,888 , Nasim plans to shift 1,100 units of the Peugeot 2008 a year.
