First Look Revealed of a Hyperloop in Contruction [+video]

Hyperloop, if you haven’t heard about it, many people say that it is the future of transportation. The theory is simple, put people in a capsule and by using a technology they licensed called “passive magnetic levitation” allows you to zip through the tube from one location to another in mere minutes. Boasting theoretical speeds of 760 mph, this means that in the future you can travel between KL and Penang in just 20 minutes.

Heck, it takes me more than 20 minutes to get out of traffic in my housing area every morning.

Check out the video below.

Just to be clear, this is done by Hyperloop Transportation Technologies which crowdsources their ideas from around the world. I had the pleasure of meeting Bibop Gresta as well last year when he was in Malaysia to give a talk about Hyperloop at Digi’s Headquarters.

If you think that Hyperloop is going to be only available in technology-rich countries such as the US or UK, you are wrong. HTT signed a venture with a local Indonesia company to perform a feasibility study in Indonesia and they are looking at 3 potential routes, one in North Sumatra, one connecting airports across the Island of Java, and the third connecting Jakarta with satellite town Tangerang.

This image below is cool, only if you manage to spot that the guy is wearing a Holo Lens which is meant to create an augmented reality inside the pod.

As much as people might have feared initially, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies is not creating just designs but actual physical parts. Still, these images are cryptic at best.
