Ferrari Opens Second Theme Park in Spain [+video]

Ferrari has just opened their second theme park, after Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, and it’s located in Spain. After the official event at which Vice Chairman Piero Ferrari pressed the symbolic starter button, Ferrari Land officially opened its doors to the public.

This is the first Cavallino Rampante theme park in Europe that occupies an area of 70,000 square metres within the Port Aventura World resort, about an hour away from Barcelona. Ferrari Land is obviously for fans and enthusiasts, but above all it is a place where families can have fun and at the same time explore the history of the marque.

There are 11 attractions on offer at the Ferrari Land. The most spectacular is unquestionably Red Force, the highest and fastest vertical accelerator in Europe, at 112 metres high and with a top speed of 180 km/h reached in just five seconds. During the opening of the theme park, one rider who decided to take the roller coaster ride was unfortunately involved in an unexpected collision when he was smacked in the face by a pigeon midair and was left with blood splatter on his cheek.

He manages to toss the dead pigeon – being held under his neck by the G-Force of the ride – away from him as he attempts to explain to his friend, what just happened before continuing to enjoy the ride.

From the video below it seems obvious that the poor pigeon didn’t survive the roller-coaster collision…
