Entries Now Open For 2017 Toyota Dream Car Art Contest

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) invites artistic Malaysian children to join the 2017 Toyota Dream Car Art Contest, an international event which now in its 11th year. The annual contest has seen increasing participation each year and in 2016, they came from no less than 885,375 entries from 81 different countries.

For the 2017 contest, the theme is ‘Your Dream Car’ and as in previous years, there are National-level contests where each each country’s finalists are chosen. Winning entries will automatically be qualified for the World Contest and during this phase, every submission will be judged by a panel consisting of TMC’s top management and art experts. Selected finalist for the World Contest will have a chance to win an all-expenses paid trip (with two guardians) to Japan to attend the awards ceremony.

Deputy Chairman of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd, Mr. Akio Takeyama said, “Advancement and innovativeness are vital to Toyota kaizen theory which advances and consistently improves our services with all our products. Through this creative challenge, we can showcase the children’s new thoughts and ideas to the world and hold onto them as our motivation for our future generations.”

“Malaysians have won a number of awards over the past 4 years that our country has been included in the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. These include the special President Akio Toyoda Award which is a special award for a submission chosen by the TMC President himself. I hope that this year, participants from Malaysia will also achieve the same success at the World Contest in August next year,” said Datuk Ismet Suki, President of UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd.

Participation is divided into 3 categories: Category 1- Under 8 years old; Category 2- 8 to 11 years old; and Category 3 – 12 to 15 years old. Further information and entry forms can be obtained from Toyota Malaysia’s website.

All entries must be received by 12 pm Malaysian time on 20 February 2017, at UMW Toyota Motor Head Office, No. 2, Jalan Persiaran Raja Muda, Seksyen 15, Shah Alam, 40200, Selangor Darul Ehsan, by hand or mail. Submissions received after 20 February 2017 will not be accepted for consideration and UMW Toyota Motor or Toyota Motor Corporation will not be liable for non-delivery of submissions via postal mail.
