In the much awaited Google I/O developer conference coming up, Audi will be participating and this goes to show that Audi is serious about working with Google to get their next generation of infotainment system to be fully integrated with Android. This is also in line with what Volvo has decided to do as well.

The Google I/O developer conference starts today in California at Google’s headquarters. Audi will be showcasing their Audi Q8 sport concept technology platform. The system will have Android on board with features such as Spotify streaming, Google Play Music, and Google Assistant to run on the large MMI touch display at the dashboard. Since it is a fully integrated system, drivers will also have the information on their virtual cockpit.

On top of that, drivers can also utilise Google Maps for navigations, a key technology shift from what used to be an auto maker’s proprietary system to a more open software.
