Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) is set to debut its flagship model, the Passat into our local market sometime next week. In anticipation of its arrival, the company is now accepting pre-bookings for the all-new Passat.
Available in three model variants – Trendline, Comfortline and Highline, the all-new Passat is priced between RM160,000 to RM199,000. It also comes with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty, and is offered in a choice of 7 colours–Pure White, Deep Black, Reflex Silver, Indium Grey, Crimson Red, Black Oak Brown and Harvard Blue.
On of the key features of the top-of-the-line Highline variant is the Active Info Display system – a completely digital instrument cluster in place of the traditional instrumentation that is interactive and fully customisable.
On top of that, the Highline variant also comes with key safety features such as Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), Electronic Differential Lock (XDS) and Lane Assist. For added convenience, the Highline and Comfortline variants are offered with Park Assist, which makes it possible for the car to automatically park itself in any parallel or perpendicular parking space; as well as Easy Open – a keyless sensor controlled trunk that opens automatically when it detects the driver’s foot.
The all-new Passat comes in two types of powertrain. The Highline variant is powered by a 2.0L TSI turbocharged engine and a 6-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG), delivering a total output of 220PS and 350Nm of torque from 1,500rpm to 4,400rpm.
Meanwhile, the Trendline and Comfortline variant is powered by a 1.8L TSI turbocharged engine paired with an improved 7-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG). This combination provides an output of 180PS, and a torque of 250Nm between 1,250rpm to 5,000rpm.
Members of the public are invited to view the all-new Passat during a special pre-booking weekend event on the 12 and 13 November 2016, located at all Volkswagen showrooms nationwide.
