BIKES: MForce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd launches new SYM Sport Rider 125i!

MForce Bike Holdings Sdn Bhd (MFB) has just launched the new SYM Sport Rider 125i, and it’s the first time this bike is being seen in this region.

The new SYM is powered by a single-cylinder 125cc, fuel-injected, SOHC 2-valve, 4-stroke engine that churns out 9.5Ps and 10.8Nm, enabling a top-speed of about 115kmh. The Sport Rider 125i comes with both electric and kick-start capabilities. The engine is mated to a clutchless 4-speed manual transmission.

A special (SE) model is available at launch, painted a striking shade of matte grey (above), and some other cosmetic enhancements, while three other regular colours are also available, Red, Yellow and Blue.

With 20,000 units expected to be sold a year, the Sport Rider 125i should be a welcome addition to the very popular ‘kapchai’ market, especially thanks to the attractive price of RM5,450 and RM5,570 for the Matte Grey SE edition (prices excluding GST), and all come with a 3-year or 30,000km warranty (whichever comes first).

Future plans for MFB in Malaysia include bigger capacity bikes and scooters. An interesting point to note is that Malaysia is the first country to get the Sport Rider 125i in the world, owing to the rapid increase of market share here.
