Uber’s settlement with employees could cost them $1.9million

Uber’s legal problems are slowly getting solved one by one and the latest results are the settlement of harassment claims for 56 current and former employees. In the settlement, Bloomberg reported that each of them will claim an average of $33,928.57.

Aside from that, Uber has also agreed to an $11,000 per person settlement to 431 other female employees over a class action suit for the pay disparity.

According to Bloomberg, the amount settled for is based on the severity and duration of the alleged misconduct which includes existing witnesses and documentation, how much impact it is to the victim and the perpetrator’s job title.

“We agree with the plaintiff’s motion which states that ‘the class has responded extremely favourably to the settlement’ with amounts that are ‘fair, reasonable, and adequate,” Uber said in a statement to Bloomberg.
