Uber and Grab heats up Cambodia

Here in South East Asia, each country is unique and multicultural and is always a difficult place to break into. Enter Cambodia and this is where both Uber and Grab are gunning for a piece of the action.

UberX has already started operating in the country’s capital of Phnom Penh whilst Grab has yet to launch their service. A local news site broke the announcement with a post stating that Grab was about to begin operations.

TechCrunch reports that Grab has yet to start due to them not receiving permission from the government whilst Uber has already received government approval. South East Asia is ripe for the taking for the two ride-sharing tech company as competition heats up.

Uber who has been known to flout government laws or operate within the legal grey areas is trying to make a change with their newly appointed CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi.
