Ferrari crashes out as Hamilton wins the Singapore Grand Prix

The streets were wet and the night was cool but the race was anything but cold. It was the first night race ever in F1 to be run in wet conditions. Ferrari was poised to win on a narrow circuit and thanks to poor performance in qualifying, Mercedes were behind the pack. But thanks to a crash, Hamilton stormed to his 60th F1 victory, extending his lead in the driver’s championship over Sebastian Vettel to 28 points.

At the start, Vettel, from pole position sprinted to the front only to have Verstappen run alongside him and Raikkonen who was on the inside clip Verstappen. This led to a chain of events which put both Ferrari cars out of the race.

The race lasted two hours as safety cars came out 3 times due to accidents on the track. Daniel Ricciardo took the opportunity to come in 2nd place with Bottas in 3rd. In 4th place was Carlos Sainz and Jolyn Palmer finished sixth.

Lewis Hamilton didn’t exactly have it easy as well, as each part of the race he tried to extend his lead on Ricciardo but thanks to the safety cars, Hamilton had to keep on trying.

It was a tough race for Bottas as well, due to a water bottle failure in his car, the Finn was without any fluids throughout the race. This caused him to have issues with vision through the ending parts of the race. Thankfully he is ok as he explained it to the TV crew after the race.
