After announcing their new CEO, Uber is continuously working to improve its relationships with drivers around the world. Starting with India where they are providing free insurance to what they say is their base of 450,000 Indian drivers. The plan should start on the 1st of September and the insurance would cover for death, disability and hospital stay in the event of accidents.

The move comes after a drivers’ strike in India where they raised complaints about disappearing incentives and that because when there is a lack of drivers, it affects Uber’s bottom line. Still, this is one of the moves in which Uber is focusing on bringing new enhancements for their drivers where incentives such as tipping directly to drivers was recently added in the US as well.
