Ahead of its official debut, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia today has announced that the company is now accepting pre-bookings for the all-new Tiguan.
Available in two variants; Comfortline and Highline the locally-assembled all-new Tiguan is expected to be priced between RM149,000 and RM169,000 when it launches in just a few more weeks. As an added bonus for interested buyers, VPCM is offering a limited early-bird special of RM7,000 off the all-new Tiguan.
Despite being 60 mm longer and 30 mm wider, the all-new Tiguan has lost more than 50 kg and now it sits 33 mm lower. It’s not bigger just on the outside as the wheelbase has been stretched by 77 mm to 2,681 mm, so it offer bigger room inside the cabin, with 29 mm additional rear knee room while the trunk’s capacity has been boosted by 145 litres to 615 litres or 1,665 litres if you fold down the rear seats.
Under the hood, power is supplied by a new 1.4L TSI turbocharged direct and multiport injection engine, paired with a 6-speed wet clutch direct shift gearbox (DSG), producing a total output of 150PS and 250Nm of torque. Officially recognized as an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV), the Tiguan comes with an excellent fuel economy of 6.7l/100km.
Within its smartly-designed interior, the all-new Tiguan comes with the same luxurious comforts found in Volkswagen’s other premium models, such as the Active Info Display and an 8-inch Discover Media infotainment system that support navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink and many other services. Apart from that, the all-new Tiguan will also feature Park Assist and 3-zone climate control as a standard feature.
There are five colours for buyers to choose from including Pure White, Deep Black, Atlantic Blue, Tungsten Silver and Indium Grey.
Malaysians eager to have a closer look at the all-new Tiguan and to place a booking are invited to make their way to the Volkswagen Sales Tour happening at the New Wing of 1 Utama Shopping Centre from today, 1 March 2017 till 5 March 2017, where the SUV will be on display. Bookings for the all-new Tiguan can also be made at any authorized Volkswagen dealer nationwide.
