Another prominent feature of the new MINI Clubman is the projection of the MINI logo onto the ground from a light source housed in the exterior mirror on the driver’s side. This warm welcome will appear every time the driver unlocks or locks the car and it will last for 20 seconds.

The MINI Clubman also offers LED headlights and LED fog lights. In terms of wheel  options, the MINI Cooper variant offers 17-inch Net Spoke Silver light alloy wheels while the MINI Cooper S variant offers 18-inch Star Spoke Black light alloy wheels. Both variants are equipped with run-flat tyres.

Powertrain

At launch, the new MINI Clubman comes in two engine options. The MINI Cooper Clubman houses a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder inline engine that outputs 136hp and a maximum torque of 220Nm. The engine power is transmitted to the front wheels via a standard via 6-speed transmission. As a result, zero to 100 km/h acceleration takes only 9.1 seconds while top speed is limited at 205 km/h. Meanwhile, the average fuel consumption of the MINI Cooper Clubman is 5.4L/100km.

The MINI Cooper S Clubman on the other hand, is powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder engine that churns out 192hp and a maximum torque of 280Nm. This allows it to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 7.1 seconds before reaching a top speed of 228 km/h. These figures are combined with an average fuel consumption of 5.9L/100km.

The 4-cylinder engine in the MINI Cooper S Clubman is coupled with an 8-speed Steptronic Transmission, with paddle shifters located on the steering wheel, to give you the thrill of manual shifting.

With the 8-Speed Steptronic transmission, it is also possible to use the coasting function. The drivetrain is decoupled at speeds of between 50 and 160 km/h as soon as the driver’s foot is removed from the accelerator pedal. The MINI Clubman then rolls at idling engine speed with a minimum rate of fuel consumption.

Safety

In terms of safety, the MINI Clubman comes fully equipped with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and the Brake Assistant. Apart from that, the standard driving stability control system Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) also includes a drive-off assistant, a brake dry function, Fading Brake Support and DTC mode (Dynamic Traction Control), which permits controlled slip so as to facilitate driving on wet and slippery surfaces.

When the driving stability system is deactivated (DSC Off mode), there is an electronic locking function for the front axle differential known as the Electronic Differential Lock Control (EDLC) which selectively and appropriately brakes a spinning drive wheel on tight corners, redirecting the drive torque to the other wheel. As a standard feature in the MINI Cooper S Clubman, Performance Control supports agile steering for dynamic cornering prior to reaching the threshold level.

Interior

Taking on a more sophisticated and high-quality form in the MINI Clubman is the wide instrument panel with cockpit facia frame. This design feature is also integrated on the door trim panels and centre console. Below the air outlets is also a horizontal decorative strip which lends additional emphasis to the width of the interior.
