Price hike for Nissan CKD models!

Car makers in Malaysia are feeling the pinch from the dropping Ringgit, as many of these companies trade in American Dollar. Edaran Tan Chong Motor, the official distributor of Nissan vehicles will increase the price of their CKD models by RM5,000, across the board from April 2016.

The new prices come into effect from 1st April 2016, in which the entry-level Nissan Almera 1.5E MT will now be priced at RM71,835, while the automatic variant will cost RM74,831. The range-topping VL variant will be priced at RM84,817.

The Nissan Grand Livina, once an affordable family mover, will be priced at RM91,596 for the 1.6 MT. Those who wants an automatic will need to fork out RM94,728, while the Grand Livina 1.8 AT will be priced at RM104,562. The Nissan X-Gear, from its original price of RM89,730, will be increased to RM94,730 effective next month.

Furthermore, the locally-assembled Nissan X-Trail will have a new price of RM146,067 for the 2.0 2WD variant, while the 2.5 4WD variant will be priced at RM168,895.

Nissan’s D-segment offering, the Teana will have a starting price of RM142,291 for the 2.0 XE variant. The 2.0 XL variant will set buyers back for RM152,601, while the range-topping 2.5 XV will cost RM172,514.

Lastly, the Nissan NV200 panel van will cost RM68,217 come April, while the NV200 Semi Panel Van will cost RM74,721.

The prices of imported models, including the Navara and Sylphy remain the same, while the Serena S-Hybrid’s price, thanks to its hybrid tax incentives, remains unchanged.
