Wolfgang Duerheimer, boss of Bugatti said,  “I can’t get the idea for a four-door limousine out of my head. It’s one of the options we might look into again as a possible next project.

Apart from a four-door saloon, Duerheimer told Autonews that the company is also opened to the idea of an electric vehicle. Bugatti initially considered the four-door saloon back in 2009, when the company unveiled the Galibier in France. The Galibier was then canned in 2011 as they company wanted to refine the design.

But will a four-door sedan make sense for a company like Bugatti? After all, the company’s main focus was the Veyron hypercar, which has been succeeded by the Chiron. Adding a four-door sedan, according to Duerheimer, wasn’t initially on the cards, as he said that it would confuse customers. That was back in 2011, and times have changed a lot.

With companies like Maserati and Rolls-Royce starting to jump onto the SUV bandwagon, Duerheimer said that the company has no plans to develop an SUV.
