Alongside the yet-to-be launched Ford Everest, we also chanced upon this new 2016 Ford S-Max in an SDAC showroom.
Fully imported from Valencia, Spain, the second-generation Ford S-Max was unveiled globally way back in September 2014. The new Ford S-Max features Ford’s new corporate Aston Martin-like front grille with large head lights. The rear end of the new S-Max receives a pair of tail lights with LED light bars, while the bottom is finished with a pair of muffler tips.
Under the hood, the 2016 Ford S-Max will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost mill that pumps out a healthy 240 PS and 345 Nm of torque. Like the Mondeo, the new S-Max features a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.
Malaysians are offered with a sole Titanium variant of the Ford S-Max, which comes fully equipped with dual-zone automatic air conditioning, Sony infotainment system with SYNC 2, leather seats, 17-inch rims, front parking sensors and LED projector headlights.
In terms of safety, the 2016 Ford S-Max features ABS, EBD, Roll Stability Control, dual front SRS airbags, driver’s knee airbag, driver and passenger first and second row side curtain airbags and passenger airbag deactivation switch.
From what we’ve gathered, the 2016 Ford S-Max will be making its local debut real soon, with prices in the region of RM230,000 to RM240,000. Stay tuned!
