Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles in Malaysia has given us a preview of the new 7-seater Mitsubishi Outlander SUV.
Scheduled to arrive at all Mitsubishi showrooms nationwide by April this year, customers are now able to place their bookings starting today with an exclusive introductory price of RM166,720.00 on-the-road with GST, for cars booked and registered before 31st May 2016. The all-new Mitsubishi Outlander SUV is backed up with a warranty package of 5-years or 100,000km, whichever comes first.
Fully imported from Japan, the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander is powered by a 2.4-litre petrol MIVEC engine producing a maximum output of 167PS and 222Nm of torque. Power is channeled to all four wheels via Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) with 6 ‘virtual’ ratios.
The all-new Mitsubishi Outlander comes with a multi-select AWD system offering three driving modes; 4WD Eco, 4WD Auto and 4WD Lock. The Eco mode emphasizes on fuel economy where torque is distributed to the front wheels during normal driving conditions and automatically splits to all wheels for better traction and stability during slippery road surfaces. This enables the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander to deliver one of the best-in-class fuel efficiency of 12.8km/litre as quoted by the automaker.
Auto mode automatically distributes the right amount of right amount of torque to all wheels to provide smoother cornering performance and maintains high-speed stability while Lock mode permanently feeds torque to all wheels during hill climb, muddy trails or rough roads.
In terms of its overall looks, the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander SUV is MMM’s first model to be introduced with the ‘Dynamic Shield’ front face, in addition to the new LED Headlamps with Daytime Running Lights, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and a sunroof. The MIVEC and 2.4 emblem is offered at an extra cost of RM40 and RM23 respectively. There are three colour choices available which include Red Metallic, White Pearl and Grey Metallic.
The interior updates include electronic tailgate with anti-trapping function, push start & keyless operation, dual-zone climate control, leather seats, touchscreen audio system with Bluetooth, iPod and USB compatibility, reverse camera and MMM Security & Solar Film by Konica Minolta. At 1,608-litres, the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander has one of the most spacious cargo space in its class which can fit up to 4 golf bags or a single-bed mattress.
In terms of safety, the all-new Mitsubishi Outlander comes standard with 7-airbags, Active Stability and Traction Control (ASTC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist, Mitsubishi’s Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE body) and Collapsible Steering Column.
