VL Automotive was founded by ex-GM Chaiman Bob Lutz and Gillbert Villarreal. Initially, the company was founded to recover what was left of Fisker Automotive. Later on, the company changed its name to VLF Automotive after Henrik Fisker joined as the third member of the company’s executive management.

Powering the new VLF Force 1 is the Dodge Viper’s massive 8.4-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine that pushes out 745 horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 928 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. With such power, the Force 1 takes 3 seconds flat to hit 92 km/h before reaching a top speed of 350 km/h. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a standard six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic.
