2016 will be an exciting for Aston Martin, as they will be replacing the ageing DB9 with an all-new model, called the DB11. A new platform and a new engine is promised for the new Aston Martin flagship model.

Powering the all-new Aston Martin DB11 will be an equally new 5.2-litre turbocharged V12. It is also believed that the DB11 will receive AMG V8s later on, thanks to the company’s partnership with Mercedes-Benz. Sources have reckoned that the new turbocharged V12 will be producing roughly 600 bhp.

Built using the same fundamentals as the current VH platform, the new DB11’s chassis will be all-new. The chassis will be designed to accommodate future models as well, and does not share any parts with Mercedes-AMG.

According to Autocar, the Aston Martin DB11 will also feature double wishbone suspensions all round. AMG is rumoured to play a part in the suspensions’ development work, though there could be a possibility that the DB11 could utilize some AMG parts.

Furthermore, Aston Martin is set to return to its driver-focused roots, as they plan to introduce a new six-speed manual for the DB11. The stick shift will be accompanied by a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic.
