One-of-a-kind LaFerrari Auctioned Off For RM31 Million!

One-of-a-kind LaFerrari raises $7Million

On August 31st this year, Ferrari announced that the company will produce an additional LaFerrari (the 500th car of a 499 car production run) to be sold at an auction where all the money will be donated to benefit the reconstruction of Central Italy in the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes that happened on the 24th of August this year.

With help from the National Italian American Foundation’s Earthquake Relief Fund and RM Sotheby’s, Ferrari has successfully auctioned off the one-off-a-kind LaFerrari for the impressive sum of $7 million (RM31million). Not only is it the most expensive LaFerrari to ever be sold at an auction, the price achieved also represents a record for the most valuable 21st Century car ever to be auctioned!

The current record for the most expensive car ever auctioned coincidentally also belongs to Ferrari, whereby a classic 250 GTO fetched £20 million a couple of years ago. No, really…

The auction took place at the Ferrari Finali Mondiali weekend at Daytona International Speedway which also served as the venue for the world premiere of the track-only 488 Challenge and the one-off SP275 SW Competizione.

Unlike the standard LaFerrari, this one-off-a-kind LaFerrari boasts a unique livery with a distinctly Italian theme: a red exterior with a white dream line on the hood and rear windshield. A small Italian flag on the hood serves as a reminder that this is a gift by Ferrari to its home country. The car will also feature a special commemorative plaque.
