We first saw the Volkswagen Passat B8 roaming our streets as early as June 2015, before spotting it again earlier this year. It seems like Volkswagen Group Malaysia is still road-testing the new sedan, as another test mule was spotted on our streets.

Thanks to our friends over at Carlist.my, we are confident that VGM is set to bring in the new Passat in the near future. We did previously report that the Passat was slated to arrive by the end of 2015, but was since delayed.

From the photos, it is evident that there has some subtle changes done to the Passat, as our earliest spyshot of the Passat had the car wearing a rear bumper that is similar to the Passat B7, with a similar looking twin muffler sticking out from the left side of the bumper. On the latest spyshot, the Passat now wears a more elegant looking rear bumper, with two vertical openings below the reflectors, hiding the muffler nicely.

The photos aren’t the sharpest out there, but it does appear that the Passat wears the company’s new three-digit emblem, which follows its new naming scheme that was announced locally 2 years ago. The three-digit emblem is a representative of how much torque the engine produces, so the Passat CC would wear a 280 TSI emblem.
