Based on a data complied by Focus2move.com from 2,700 models sold in over 140 countries, Toyota has maintained first place with consumers from all over the world, with 634,298 units delivered in the first 6 months of this year, although down by 1.2% from the previous period last year.
The second spot is taken by Volkswagen Golf, with 500,630 sales (+1.8%), while the third spot goes to the Ford F-Series, with 478,394 deliveries (+12.6%). Ford secured the fourth place too, with its Focus compact delivering 367,479 units (-16.4%), followed closely by the Hyundai Elantra, with 363,490 units of total deliveries.
Volkswagen Polo took the 6th place this year with 358,602 units delivered (-1.8%). Meanwhile, Toyota RAV4 is the new leader in the SUV segment with 346,791 units sold in the first half of 2016, a 10.8% sales increase compared to last year. This is followed by Toyota Camry with a total sale of 333,611 (-11.7%) followed by Honda CR-V with 339,611 of sales recorded (+3.9%). 10th place goes to Chevrolet Silverado with 307,845 units sold during the first half of this year (-1.0%).
The biggest move in the chart belongs to the Hyundai Tucson, which climbed 94 places to the 16th spot with its 285,060 unit of sales, a massive 202.4% increase in popularity, compared to 94,267 units sold in the first half of 2015.
Other notable sellers worth mentioning include the Honda Civic that climbs to the 11th spot from 17th spot with 305,706 of total sales during the first half of this year and the Volkswagen Jetta that took 12th spot with 297,087 units sold.
