The Kia Picanto entered the Malaysian market in 2013, offering incredible safety kit packed in a compact body. This time around, it appears that a limited number of the facelifted Kia Picanto quietly found its way into our market.

From what we gathered, the facelifted Kia Picanto will mirror the outgoing Picanto’s specifications, including the safety kit and powertrain. Despite that, the facelifted Kia Picanto will be offered with only an automatic transmission, as the manual has been dropped. Some have claimed that the facelifted Picanto loses out on the front active head rests, sunglasses holder and underseat tray, but adds a pair of front projector fog lights, an additional driver’s knee airbag, foot lamp up front for driver and front passenger, trip control button located on the steering wheel and a revised meter cluster.

Up front, the facelifted model gains a the company’s new corporate look, including a new front bumper design that incorporates a new lower grille design. The rear also gets a new bumper design with a large black lower centre piece. The handle piece that opens the rear boot is now body coloured, as opposed to the black one on the pre-facelift model.

Price wise, the facelifted Kia Picanto is said to be going for RM61,888. Be quick however, as we heard that there’s extremely limited stock of the new Picanto, and not every dealer will be able to get their hands on one.
