While the Daihatsu Sirion’s cousin, the Perodua Myvi, continues to drive Perodua’s sales figure here, the same can’t be said for Indonesia, as PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) managed to shift just 300 units of the hatchback there.

According to Marketing and Customer Relation Head at PT Astra International-Daihatsu Sales Operation, Hendrayadi Lastiyoso, the Sirion contributed just 5 percent to the total sales of Daihatsu. On average, the company shifts between 300 to 350 units of the Sirion.

Despite the drop of sales for the Sirion, sales of the Daihatsu Ayla and Xenia continue to climb. The key factor to why sales of the Sirion dropped is due to the economic slump and the lack of demand for city cars in Indonesia.

Even with the lack of demand for the Sirion, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor will continue to offer the Sirion in Indonesia.

Prices start from IDR 159,825,000 (RM48,613) for the Sirion 1.3 D FMC MT, all the way to IDR 179,325,000 (RM54,544) for the 1.3 D FMC AT SPORT. Although the Sirion is basically a rebadged Perodua Myvi, features like ABS and EBD are not available on the Indonesian model.
