Mitsubishi Indonesia is set to debut the Mirage facelift in the republic soon, as indicated by these spyshots.

First launched in North America last year, the facelifted Mitsubishi Mirage features a redesigned hood, grille, front and rear bumper, fog and headlamps, rear spoiler and wheels.

Moving inside, the little Mirage gets updated with new seat fabrics, gauge cluster, steering wheel and shift panel. Even so, the Indonesian variant loses out on the 300-watt Rockford-Fosgate audio system and the infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The orange backlit meter cluster has made way for a fresher looking white backlit type.

Under the hood, nothing has changed from the pre-facelifted model, which means the 1.2-litre three-cylinder MIVEC engine that outputs 78 PS and 100 Nm is carried over. Transmission choices are also identical. Despite carrying over the same powertrain, Mitsubishi has reworked the front end of the Mirage, which should allow the Mirage to handle better. North American models also get upsized brakes, which could be introduced here as well.

Speaking of which, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia’s website has quietly dropped the Mirage, suggesting that the launch could happen sooner than expected.
