Powering the Porsche 911 Carrera is a new-generation bi-turbo 3.0-litre flat-six engine. The engine outputs 370 hp on the 911 Carrera, while the 911 Carrera S and 911 Carrera 4S gets 430 hp. The power increase is courtesy of modified compressors, reworked exhaust system and enhanced engine management. Torque wise, the 911 Carrera has 450 Nm from just 1,700 rpm. The sportier 911 Carrera S and 911 Carrera 4S gets an additional 50 Nm, bringing the figure up to 500 Nm, also available from just 1,700 rpm.

All 911 Carrera variants are fitted with Porsche’s PDK transmission. The 911 Carrera with the PDK and Sport Chrono Package can hit 100 km/h from a deadstop in just 4.2 seconds, while the 911 Carrera S completes the same century sprint in just 3.9 seconds, while the 911 Carrera 4S manages 3.8 seconds. In terms of top speed, the 911 Carrera manages a top speed of 293 km/h, while the Carrera S tops out at 306 km/h. The 911 Carrera 4S can achieve a top speed of 303 km/h.

If buyers opt for the Sport Chrono Package, the 911 Carrera gets a mode switch on the steering wheel, first seen on the Porsche 918 Spyder. Drivers can select between different driving modes, including Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. The latter allows drivers to configure their own individual vehicle set-up, including the PASM, active engine mounts, PDK shifting strategy and sports exhaust system. In combination with the PDK transmission, the mode switch has an additional push button, the “Sport Response Button”. When this button is pressed, the drivetrain is pre-conditioned for maximum acceleration for 20 seconds. When engaged, the optimal gear is engaged and engine management is adjusted for even more spontaneous response for a brief period of time.

Elsewhere, the new Porsche 911 gets PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) as a standard feature. This allows the 911 Carrera to sit 10 mm closer to the ground, while improving cornering stability at the same time.  Apart from the Sport Chrono Package, buyers can also opt for the active rear-axle steering system, though only for the 911 Carrera S and 911 Carrera 4S. Turning circle has also been reduced 0.4 meters, easing town driving. Adding to the everyday practicality is the hydraulic lift system with integrated lifting cylinders in the struts of the front axle, which raises the ground clearance by 40 mm at the press of a button.

The Macan GTS also gets standard GTS sport seats with Alcantara centre panels plus additional Alcantara trim. Sports exhaust system also comes as a standard fitment on the hotter Macan GTS. Like the 911 Carrera, the Macan GTS is also equipped with the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM), featuring Apple CarPlay connectivity.
