Ford has announced April retail sales of 650 units in Malaysia, driven by the Ranger pickup truck, which contributed sales of 521 units.

The ‘Built Ford Tough’ Ranger offers a class-leading suite of safety features that includes up to 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and ISOFIX child safety mounts as standard across all variants, and a rear view camera on both the XLT and WildTrak variants. Ranger is also the only pickup in Malaysia to feature driver assistance technologies such as Lane Keeping Aid and Adaptive Cruise Control, offering drivers extra peace of mind.

With the ability to wade through water up to 800mm deep as well as outstanding towing and payload capabilities, the Ranger is the most capable truck in Malaysia.

“Demand for the new Ranger continues to grow across Malaysia, as consumers look for a pickup truck that combines the class-leading toughness and power they need with a level of refinement normally found only in premium passenger cars,” said David Westerman, managing director, Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets, Ford Motor Company.

April also saw Ford and local distributor Sime Darby Auto Connexion kick off a series of roadshows to showcase Ford’s refreshed vehicle lineup. The roadshows will continue in May at AEON Taiping, Perak, Mines International Exhibition and Convention Center (MIECC), Klang Valley, Boulevard Shopping Mall, Miri, Sarawak and Imago Mall, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
