Perodua continues to test the Daihatsu Move on local roads, as our friends at Funtasticko has gathered a new batch of spyshots taken in Penang.

One reader spotted the Daihatsu Move while refueling at a Shell station in Juru. The said reader then approached the Daihatsu’s driver, which casually informed him that Perodua could be re-introducing the Perodua Kenari next year.

Look closely and you’ll notice that this Daihatsu Move is fitted with a forward sensing sensor plus front camera, which indicates that Perodua is testing some form of Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). On the Daihatsu, the system is called Smart Assist II, and it incorporates the earlier mentioned AEB, plus Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).

The Perodua Kenari was phased out in 2009, without a proper successor. Sure, Perodua does offer the Alza for those seeking an MPV, but the Kenari had quirky looks that made it appealing to some. The current generation Daihatsu Move would certainly fill that void.

Maybe Perodua had a change of mind when the company noticed that response from social media sites were encouraging enough to justify bringing the Kenari back. Would you consider one?
