All-new third-generation Hyundai Tucson launched in Malaysia, yours from RM129,888

The official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Malaysia, Hyundai Sime-Darby Motors, has officially unveiled the all-new third-generation Hyundai Tucson at their new Hyundai Asia & Pacific Training Academy. The new Tucson will be available in two variants, namely Elegance and Executive.

Sitting as the entry-level model is the Hyundai Tucson 2.0 Elegance, while above that is the 2.0 Executive. Both variants share the same 2.0-litre Nu engine with 158 PS at 6,200 rpm and 192 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. A six-speed automatic drives the front wheels on all Tucson variants. Prices start at RM129,888 for the 2.0 Elegance, while the 2.0 Executive is yours for RM143,888. Both prices are OTR with insurance, but valid till December 2015 only.

Exterior wise, the Tucson 2.0 Elegance features halogen projector headlights with manual leveling, body coloured door handles and rear foglights. Inside, the entry-level Tucson gets full leather upholstery, a rear luggage screen, radio CD player with reverse camera, auto down driver side power window and leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with audio controls. Airbag count is just two up front.

Moving to the range-topping Tucson 2.0 Executive, the front headlights are also of the projector type, but with the added escort function. The Executive variant also gets front foglights, LED position lights and DRLs and chrome door handles. As for the interior, the Tucson 2.0 Executive retains the full leather upholstery, but adds a 10 way power adjustable drive seat. Elsewhere, the range-topping variant also adds a smart key system with an engine push start button, luggage net, Android-powered touchscreen infotainment system, glove box illumination, auto up and down drive window, front parking sensor, cruise control and a built-in digital video recorder (black box). There is a total of six airbags on the Executive variant, including side and curtain airbags.

Both variants feature ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) with ESP, Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) and Downhill Brake Control (DBC). Rim size are 17-inches for both variants, wrapped with 225/60/R17 rubbers all round. The Hyundai Tucson gets all round disc brakes.
