Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) today announced that a price increase on Nissan models in Malaysia is possible if the Ringgit continues to depreciate against the major currencies.

The depreciation of the Ringgit has impacted the company’s business – and under such challenging business environment, ETCM has implemented numerous cost rationalization and efficiency optimization exercises to mitigate this. However, even with ongoing mitigation, some cost may have to be passed on to consumers.

As a result, they may have to consider raising the prices of its Nissan models beginning next year.

“Despite all adversities, ETCM remains committed in providing our customers with quality, value-added products and the highest level of customer services. The Company will continue to seek and review opportunities for more strategic operational effectiveness and efficiencies within the business and with our partners in order to ensure that the current prices of Nissan vehicles remain unchanged this year,” said Dato’ Dr Ang Bon Beng, Executive Director of ETCM.
