Road Closure at KM3.6 Sprint Highway, Section 16 on September 6th

Road Closure

KLites take note. There will be a total closure along the SPRINT highway at KM3.6 in front of Phileo Damansara and Eastin Hotel on 6 September 2015 from 12:01am to 6:00pm.

According to Deputy Construction Director of MMC-Gamuda, En. Adil Putra, the 18 hours road closure closure is crucial to facilitate works for the Phileo Damansara MRT Station entrance link bridge. The link bridge spans over the SPRINT Highway and the toll-free road running parallel to it and will allow commuters to access the station from the Section 16 side of the highway.

“This total closure is necessary as we need a minimum safe working space to cater to our heavy machineries that are needed for the installation works. We understand the impact of such a closure hence we have devised alternative routes for motorists during this period. In addition, flagmen and traffic signages will be placed at site and surrounding areas to guide motorists and to minimise the safety risks to the motorists”, he added.

The Kuala Lumpur-bound closure starts after the planned TTDI MRT station along Jalan Damansara. The NKVE-bound closure starts from the Jalan Dato’ Abu Bakar turn off.

During this closure motorists from Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI) and Petaling Jaya heading towards Kuala Lumpur (indicated in PURPLE arrows in map) must make a U-turn and then turn left into Jalan Tan Sew Pow and then back onto SPRINT Highway before turning into Jalan 17/21. Motorists can choose to turn left into Jalan 17/22 before making their way to Jalan 16/6, or proceed to Jalan Universiti before joining Jalan Dato’ Abu Bakar to head back to KL.

This diversion also applies to motorist from NKVE heading towards Kuala Lumpur (indicated in Green arrow in map).

Motorists from Kuala Lumpur on the SPRINT Highway intending to go to Petaling Jaya, TTDI or the NKVE (indicated in Blue arrows in map) can opt to turn into Jalan Dato’ Abu Bakar and turn right into Jalan 16/16 and then right to Jalan 17/1 to head back to Petaling Jaya. Please see the map below for details.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area all together and use alternative roads where possible.
