After several teases, the all-new 2016 Hyundai Elantra has been caught undisguised at Hyundai’s own production plant in South Korea!

This particular Hyundai Elantra, codenamed AD, is shown in its Korean Domestic Model (KDM) form with the Avante nameplate. Despite that, the global version of the next-generation Elantra will look very much like the one shown here.

Outside, the all-new Hyundai Elantra features a more matured front fascia, with design hints coming from the bigger brother Genesis and Sonata. The front grille has a sharp trapezoid shape, which is very much inspired from the Veloster Turbo. The thinner front headlights now feature integrated LED daytime running lights. Gone are the curvy lines the Elantra MD had, now replaced with more angular lines.

As for the rear end, the car now gains a pair redesigned LED tail lights and a revised bumper. Design wise, hints of the Elantra MD can be seen, especially at the rear boot area.

As for the interior of the next-generation Hyundai Elantra, you can see that the it draws much of its inspiration from the Sonata, with a similarly designed dashboard adorning both cars. A definite plus in our books.

Engine choices, as mentioned earlier, is likely going to feature a turbocharged 1.6-litre T-GDI engine with 175 horsepower paired to a seven speed dual clutch unit. Other markets will also get the option of a diesel engine.

There has been no word on when the new Hyundai Elantra will reach our local shores, but it will be making a US debut at the 2015 Los Angeles Motor Show in November. Sales are expected to start in 2016.
