Lamborghini has officially unveiled the Aventador LP750-4 SV Roadster at the Monterey Car week in California. The new LP750-4 SV Roadster will be limited to just 500 units worldwide, and is Lamborghini’s first roadster to bear the Superveloce moniker.
Present at the event, President and CEO of Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann said, ”The Superveloce is the purest, most sports-oriented and fastest series production Lamborghini ever. The Roadster version represents our commitment to satisfying our passionate clients with immensely emotional driving dynamics combined with an extraordinary open air experience.”
Powering the new Aventador LP750-4 SV Roadster is a naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 with 750 hp and 690 Nm of torque. Standstill to 100 km/h takes a mere 2.9 seconds, and Lamborghini says that the new Roadster will have a top speed exceeding 350 km/h.
Like the Aventador LP750-4 SV, the Roadster also features the same seven speed ISR transmission and Haldex Generation IV 4WD system. The Roadster’s two-piece roof is made out of carbon fibre and feature technologies such as RTM and Forged Composite. Thanks to the exotic materials used, each of the two roof part weighs less than 6 kg and can be kept in the luggage compartment.
Customers can expect to receive their units beginning early 2016, and each unit, according to Lamborghini, costs $530,000 USD.
