Folks in Europe can finally get their hands on the new Honda Jazz, after its European debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Let’s take a closer look.
For starters, the European Honda Jazz will feature a new 1.3-litre i-VTEC petrol engine with 101 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 123 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The new engine gets a new gearbox, which in this case is a new six speed manual, with the CVT being optional. Honda claims that the new engine delivers the driving performance of the previous 1.4 unit, while keeping fuel consumption similar to the 1.2 unit.
While performance figures aren’t groundbreaking, the engine excels in fuel economy. The Honda Jazz, when paired to the optional CVT, sips only 4.6 litres of petrol per 100 km covered, while emitting just 106 g of CO2 per km.
Buyers can choose from three different grade levels. The mid grade variant will get standard 15-inch alloy wheels, while the upper grade variant gets a set of 16-inch alloy wheels. The rest of the features are similar to what we get here, including the practical Ultra Seats.
Safety wise, the European Honda Jazz gets City-Brake Active system as standard fitment, while mid and upper grade variants get the full Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) suite, which includes Forward Collision Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition System, Intelligent Speed Limiter, Lane Departure Warning, High Beam Support System. Airbag count is 6 across the range. ADAS is optional for the base grade Honda Jazz.
