Often when I drive or ride, I spot many drivers out there who watch their favourite shows while driving. Yes, as much as I love motorcycles, I drive as well. I can’t do grocery shopping on a motorcycle, can I?
“How do they watch their favourite show while driving?” I am asked. Well, it’s not that hard as you download several episodes and transfer them to your mobile phone or tab. I have chanced upon some drivers out there, they would either clip their phone onto a steering wheel mobile phone holder. Or they would use a phone holder that is held down with a suction cup on the windscreen.
Dear drivers out there, please do not misuse these tools. These tools are actually meant for those who need to look at a GPS navigation system or ‘Waze’ without them needing to hold the phone while operating the vehicle.
This situation is getting out of hand and I will have to take my GoPro out again in order to take videos of these irresponsible drivers. Recently I have been in two accidents due to negligence of the drivers – either they’re impatient or they deliberately just want to change lanes at the very last-minute and many of which do not use the signal. Hey, using the signals don’t cost you money, please use them.
I urge the authorities to take stern action should any police report be made against these drivers, I really hope they do – as I will frequent the police station from now onwards.
