Nissan launches China-bound Lannia sedan

All-new Nissan Lannia makes its world premiere at Auto Shanghai

Initially previewed as a concept 2 years ago at the Shanghai Motor Show as the Friend-Me concept, then in 2014 as the Lannia Concept at the Beijing Motor Show, Nissan has officially unveiled the Lannia sedan, bound for China.

The Nissan Lannia was designed and developed by Nissan Design China, which was backed by the Nissan Global Design Center. The new sedan is targeted at buyers in their 20s and 30s. Titus Liu, Creative Design Manager at Nissan Design China said, “Edging forward is not enough. The market in China is moving very fast, especially with the post-1980s generation. They do not want to stick with the status quo, so we are dedicated to finding the next great breakthrough. This is important for us.”

Nissan has remained rather tight-lipped on the technical aspects of their new sedan, but it does feature Nissan’s signature V grille and boomerang-styled headlights. The Nissan Lannia is limited to the Chinese market for now, and features “advanced audio system with smart-phone connectivity and a seven-inch multimedia display screen.”
