Chevrolet has just confirmed that the new 2016 Camaro will have Goodyear F1-wrapped tires and huge Brembo brakes, according to their press release. So basically they’re saying that the new car will have tyres…and brakes. Okay, you can stop laughing now…
The new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, according to Chevrolet, will be 28 percent stiffer than its predecessor. Jim Karlavage, Camaro program engineering manager said, “The modeling abilities of computer aided engineering are advancing at incredible rates. Today, we can accurately model opportunities to add torsional strength without adding unnecessary mass. The result is a lighter, stiffer structure that benefits every aspect of the driving experience.”
Engineers were able to precisely calibrate the steering and suspension systems thanks to its stiffer body structure. “The structural weight savings are compounded by opportunities to reduce un-sprung weight. The result is a more nimble driving experience that rewards the driver with satisfying feelings of responsiveness and control,” continued Karlavage.
Chevrolet will debut the new 2016 model on May 16 at Detroit’s Belle Isle Park during a special public event.
