Carpooling via Tripda app to reduce traffic congestion

Carpooling reduces traffic congestion, travel costs & carbon footprint

Carpooling is not a norm in Malaysia, especially for long-distance journeys. However, since the advent of UBER taxi services, which offers private vehicles for hire and ride-sharing services become a trend, many contenders are trying to establish businesses in this online market as well. And no, it’s not a pseudo ‘dating’ service, just in case you were wondering…

A new entrant called Tripda, is an online carpooling platform that connects car drivers and passengers heading the same way. So instead of puchasing bus or train ride tickets or driving solo, users can look for rides and offer rides to save travel costs, reduce traffic congestion and also preserve the environment by reducing carbon emissions.

Tripda urges motorists to carpool this 'Balik Kampung' season to reduce ...

“Traffic volume can be reduced tremendously if single-occupant vehicles heading the same direction were to carpool,” said Victor Ang, Tripda Malaysia’s Country Manager. “Single-occupant vehicles in Klang Valley make up more than 70% of the total number of vehicles travelling on the road everyday,” added Ang.

Currently, the Tripda app is free for all users and it is safe and fuss-free. Users can download the app via Apple App Store or Google Play and also access Tripda via its website www.tripda.com.my. To enjoy the convenience of Tripda, users just have to sign-up on Facebook and register in order to offer a ride or find a ride by entering the date of travel and destination.
