Driving stick is the best way to prevent car thief, true story

manual

In this day and age, it’s undeniable that vehicle theft is getting rampant, forcing owners to spend quite a substantial amount of money for car theft prevention systems. At times, arming the car with the expensive and top of the range Thatcham system doesn’t really prevent car thieves from driving off your ride. But believe it or not, if your car is with a manual transmission gearbox, then there a higher percentage your car is much safer from vehicle theft.

It is reported at MassLive that in Massachusetts, United States, three robbers had successfully stopped a food delivery truck, when the driver was held at knifepoint. They demanded the food and the keys of the vehicle. What it seems to be a successful robbery was somehow halted when all the robbers were unable to operate the manual stick of the vehicle, forcing them to abandon the vehicle. Fortunately the victim escaped unhurt.

Statement from the authorities revealed that “The trio jumped into his car and attempted to steal it, but not one of them knew how to drive a stick-shift car. After some arguing among themselves, they ran off down the street with the food”.

While the suspects are still at-large, probably driving an automatic-transmission car, consider getting yourself a manual transmission car to deter vehicle thieves. Beside, driving with a stick-shifter is a lot fun, too.
