It’s been 45 years since the original Nissan Skyline GT-R came out, so to celebrate this occasion, the Japanese automaker has announced a special commemorative limited edition with only 45 units up for grabs.

Unfortunately the Limited-Edition “45th Anniversary” Nissan GT-R will be sold in the Japanese market, where they’ll each carry a retail price of 10,787,040 yen (approximately RM306,876). Nissan will be accepting orders for the Limited-Edition 45th Anniversary model on a first-come, first-serve basis, starting in early January next year and it will go on sale the following month in conjunction with the release of the 2015 model year GT-R.

This limited-edition model will be based on the 2015 Nissan GT-R, which features ride quality that has been specially tuned to exhibit a more mature, better refined feel than its predecessors.

The “45th Anniversary” will come with a special paint color called “Silica Brass” – the same trademark color as the Skyline GT-R M-Spec (R34 Type), which was touted as the “a GT-R that satisfies the mature driver” when it was released in 2001.

It will be available only in the Premium Edition trim level that feature an exclusive emblem on the lower part of the interior centre cluster and an exclusive model plate number in the engine compartment. Well, that’s about the extent of the special touches applied to this celebratory model, with no mechanical modifications announced, the limited edition model will probably feature the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters.
