UMW Toyota updates the Corolla Altis 1.8G to replace 2.0G

1.8E

Within ten months after the eleventh-generation Corolla Altis was unveiled in Malaysia, UMW Toyota has introduced updates for its C-segment saloon. The Corolla Altis 2.0G model has been replaced by the 1.8G model, complementing the existing 1.8E model as well.

The 1.8G variant gets goodies such as smart entry and push-start ignition, leather seats, 2-DIN head touchscreen DVD player and reverse camera. Sadly, safety features remain an afterthought as active safety such as Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and traction control system are omitted, just like the 1.8E. Also, the 1.8G gets standard two front airbags.

The 1.8G now sells at RM119,900 on-the-road with insurance, RM3,000 less than the outgoing 2.0G. Meanwhile, the price of the entry model 1.8E is now at RM115,900 on-the-road with insurance, an increase of RM2K from its original price.
