Ferrari 458 recalled in the strangest recall case ever!

italia

Usually a vehicle recall takes place when something unsafe was discovered on the vehicle that could endanger its occupants. However in America, Ferrari has to recall 3082 units of the 458 Italia supercar, because it was discovered that the internal trunk release may not work.

This may seem odd but as per America’s equivalent of the road transport department, the NHTSA, says “In the event an individual is trapped in the trunk and the latch system does not release the trunk lid, it increases the risk of personal injury or possibly death.”

In other words, your life could be in danger if hypothetically you were kidnapped and the kidnappers, who could be driving a Ferrari 458, put you into the 458’s tiny front boot. As ludicrous as it sounds, the recall notice only states that the issue occurs when the car is not moving. This means everything is fine when the car is moving while you’re stuck inside the boot!

You may be wondering how large is the boot space on the 458, and the image below tells all, and honestly we are doubtful if even a child can fit inside. Well don’t worry, Ferrari is going to fix it, anyway!
